I don’t know about you, but the whole team here at the Forge is a lot happier now that the sun is out. There’s something about being able to go without a coat that really lifts the spirits and makes you feel invincible. And somehow, getting up when it’s light out not only makes you feel less tired, but also makes you feel like you suddenly have so many more hours in the day.

Spring and summer are great seasons for making changes. While autumn and winter are good times to wind down and make plans for the year ahead, spring and summer is all g0-g0-go! All of a sudden we want to be outdoors, not huddled in front of the TV. We have so much more energy and there’s a general sense of optimism in the air at this time of year.

So, in the spirit of making changes, here’s what some of the Forge team have planned for their summer:

  • Receptionist Nikki wants to have a go at making her own summer dress.
  • More sculling for massage therapist Nicky now there’s less wind and chill in the morning. She’ll also be dusting down her bike and riding to work more often.
  • Clinic Director Husam will be getting back into running.
  • Chiropractor and hypnotherapist Jean Luc plans some long walks in the forest and getting back into his photography. Perhaps we can persuade him to share some on our Facebook page!

Here are some tips on how to harness all that extra energy yourself:

  • Get outside. Now is a great time to dust off your running shoes and get back on the track. While you’ve had to force yourself out of the door into the wind and rain of winter, take advantage of the fact that you now want to be outside and add an extra run to your week.
  • See more of people. It’s easy to hibernate at the beginning of the year – it’s too cold to venture out and you’re all partied out after Christmas and New Year. Now’s the time to venture out and reconnect with the people you love most. Picnic anyone?
  • Positive mental attitude. Now is a great time to get yourself in the habit of positive thinking! If you find that you’re generally a glass half empty kind of person, but want to change that, start now! It’s so much easier to be positive when the sun is shining and this will stand you in good stead for the winter.
  • Get an MOT. If you’re thinking of taking up a new sport or just looking to improve your overall health and worried about a niggle or twinge, give us a call on 020 8332 6184 or book online.
