Green IntentionsWe are proud to say that we were featured in the Merton Chamber of Commerce e-newsletter this month!

If you’re wondering what Merton has to do with Richmond, the answer is simple – we are linked by the same European funded programme.

The Greening Business Programme is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Merton and Richmond (amongst others in the UK) make the fund available to small and medium sized businesses.

The principle is simple: European funds pay for a trained adviser to come and audit your business and send you a report with a list of actions you can enforce right now. This is a great way to step back and look at your investments and services you buy with the objective to save money and the world.

One of our Clinic Director’s, Jerome Boisard, has a background in green business so we are focused on being as environmentally friendly as possible anyway. At the Forge Clinic we found the idea of this new green business programme so brilliant that we joined last year!

When the adviser came back with a big to do list, we started to act straight away. After 6 months we can now look back and see thousands of pounds of savings on essentials like use of energy, waste management, water and transportation.

We have applied the sustainability spirit to the whole business. All these changes and actions were recognised by the exceptional gogreenrichmond award and we had the pleasure of receiving it directly from the hands of Cllr Pamela Fleming of Richmond Borough, who is active in this campaign.

‘Exceptional’ is just the start, as the Greening Business Programme has opened a wealth of opportunities to do better and to save more in the future. So stay tuned, we will keep you posted during 2014!

Jerome is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You can call or book online.
