Clinical Massage Therapy is a therapeutic treatment for specific musculoskeletal issues, injuries, or chronic pain conditions. It is an outcome-based treatment where the focus is on treating not just your physical condition but also your mental health and wellbeing.

Your massage practitioner will use a variety of techniques depending on your presenting complaint. This could include deep tissue massage, myofascial release (which works on the connective tissue around the muscles), stretches, trigger point therapy and breath work to address specific issues. You will always receive specific aftercare to help you on your recovery journey. Each treatment looks to reduce pain, gain greater range of movement, or a combination of the two. This in turn can improve overall physical and mental health, and help get you back to doing the things you love.

Clinical Massage offers a range of benefits to the individual.

They include (but are not limited to):

– Pain Relief: reduction of pain associated with chronic pain conditions, injuries (sports and repetitive strain) and overall stress tension.

– Improved Circulation: the manipulation of soft tissues during clinical massage enhances blood flow. This in turn can promote better circulation and movement throughout the body.

– Stress Reduction: beyond the physical benefits, Clinical Massage also contributes to mental well-being by reducing stress and promoting deep relaxation during treatment and beyond.

Musculoskeletal Issues: supporting conditions such as TMJ disorder, chronic headaches, arthritis, fibromyalgia, frozen shoulder and muscle strains.
– Sports Injuries: support with injury recovery and enhance performance.
– Postural Issues: relief for patients with postural imbalances or desk job-related aches and pains.
– Mental wellbeing: menopause, chronic stress, grief and anxiety.

Underwent physiotherapy with Bridget Burleigh for a problematic knee. A fantastic service, demeanour, and knowledge from Bridget especially during these Covid-safe times. The Forge is fully set-up to deal face to face in a safe manner. Bridget has been nothing but excellent in helping me on the path to recovery including during my relocation to Australia. A word of thanks must go to The Forge front of house reception who are always fantastically helpful too.

Been seeing David for 6 months for a dislocated shoulder and brachial plexus nerve injury, and he’s amazing! His vast knowledge and skills gave me so much confidence and trust in him. Thank you to Lara. She was extremely kind, helpful and knowledgeable. She made everything better! I feel much more confident and less worried. I would recommend her and The Forge Clinic. Thank you!

Samuel has been treating my very painful tennis elbow for the past month. What a massive improvement thanks to effective massage and manipulation as well as a series of easy exercises to do at home.
