GPs have been recently advised to screen patient’s level of physical activities and exercise taken, in the bid to prevent future long term illnesses like diabetes, heart problems and other life threatening health problems.
At The Forge, we believe that your level of physical activity, should it be as simple as regular walking, are paramount to the way your body will deal with the pressures of the modern life: being seated, being transported by car, lift, train.
We agree with Professor Mike Kelly, director of public health at NICE, who says: ‘you have to consider levels of physical activity in every patient you see and help people to improve their health by boosting their activity levels. This simple advice could have a big impact on improving lives and saving taxpayers’ money.’
The Forge Clinic specialises in physical therapy (Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, Clinical Exercise and Sports Massage) and other treatments (Acupuncture, Nutritional Therapy and Hypnotherapy), however we can hardly be considered a gym, even if some of our practitioners offer one to on Pilates sessions. Because of this we decided to build a network of “exercise friendly” places that we have tested, know and trust. Ask your practitioner for more information.
Keep fit, Keep healthy.
