This week we want to talk about achieving and maintaining your best health.

Your health is probably the most important thing you have. Without your health, it’s difficult to enjoy time with friends and family; you may not be able to enjoy your hobbies as you once did and you may even struggle to go away on holiday.

Here at The Forge Clinic, we are committed to helping you find and maintain your best health. Here are our tips for creating a diet that makes you feel healthy and energised.

DIET

As with exercise, diet is something we hear about often in the media. While many magazines are full of the latest fad diet, here at The Forge, we believe in creating good habits to last a lifetime, rather than going on a diet. We encourage all our patients to cut their sugar intake and reduce how many chemically laced ready meals they eat. Replace them with lean protein – like chicken or salmon – and vegetables.

Try and commit to cooking a meal from scratch at least once a week, you can gradually increase this over time once you are familiar with a few recipes. Cooking will give you confidence and will mean you know exactly what you’re eating. Be sure to make large batches so you can take leftovers to work for lunch! This gives you a healthier option for your workday lunches and will also save you money.

If you are struggling with any aspect of your diet, if you are concerned you may have a food allergy, want to lose weight and change your attitude towards food or are concerned about your digestive health, our nutritional therapist Julie Deeks can help you. She can even give you advice on how to make the healthiest choice you can when eating out! Give us a call on 020 8332 6184 to check her availability.
